About Burgess Artwork.
Shaun Burgess is an internationally recognised oil painter from Suffolk, United Kingdom. He specializes in animal and portraiture, with a particular focus on the powerful and elegant world of horses and the rich pomp and pageantry of the U.K. military.
Burgess's signature style is a powerful fusion of classic and contemporary techniques. His paintings are celebrated for their ability to capture light and the essence of movement, seamlessly blending the detail of traditional realism with subtle elements of abstraction. This distinctive method results in pieces that feel both classic and boldly modern.
His international appeal has become particularly evident in the Gulf region, where his work has been acquired for the esteemed collections of the Qatari Royal Family and prestigious Arabian horse studs. This recognition solidifies his reputation as a highly sought-after artist.

Lawrence Tribute Trek 2025
Above are two paintings I was hugely honoured to create in tribute to a remarkable feat of dedication, endurance and generosity.
In January 2025, five members of the Special Forces Club completed a challenging 685-mile camel trek along the historic path of T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia), Auda Abu Tayi, Sherif Nasir and Nesib el Bekri. Led by Howard Leedham MBE, MSc, the expedition raised vital funds for the Special Forces Club Benevolent Fund.
The SF Club riders set off from Al Wajh in Saudi Arabia and, staying loyal to the original route, 25 days later, having crossed the Hejaz Mountains twice and the vast and “uncrossable” plain that skirts the Nefud Desert, sandstorms, quicksand and temperatures ranging from minus 5 to plus 37, they entered Aqaba to be greeted by thousands of well-wishers.
